In immediate upcoming work I’m moving back to the blank resins, with a couple of realistic animals NOT of the feline variety (and one kitty as well, heehee).

A big thank you to everyone I’ve met at the recent conventions, they’ve been fun and I’ve got a LOT of work ahead of me! Ack! Comic-Con is coming up and I’ll have some of my blanks (Cat Dancer, Calla, and the kitties), but sadly no La Breas. Well, hopefully next year there’ll be something new and fun for that convention!

From top, left to right:

1. I originally started this off on a small plastic Breyer stablemate. Annoyingly (which is why I don’t often start with the body first), the head got a little too big for the body.
2. My new, larger horse body arrives in the mail! Her tail’s broken off, but I was going to make a new one anyways, so that’s fine. I started adding a little clay to smooth out her contours.
3. Sawing away at the neck. At this point her skull wasn’t tall enough either.
4. Horse’s head chopped off, mane also sawed off and gaps filled in (more bulk added to the body too). I made a rough foil ‘torso’ and superglued it onto the shoulders before covering it in clay.
5. After coating with clay, boobs and shoulders and neck details added. Head was also attached and made a bit taller.
6. First tail. Also, bun in hair.
7. RAAAARRRGH
8. There’s the second tail, which I still wasn’t happy with (the first tail with more hair overlaid on top of it, basically). Also, um, dismemberment.
9. A shorter, narrower-shouldered torso and a new tail (#3) later! Ahhhhh. <|D

FIN

More news on this project coming soon. :)
